The Department Life, Light & Matter (LL&M) at the University of Rostock has been awarded three Mare Balticum Fellowships for international guest researchers. The fellowships were granted by the Vice Rectors for Research, Talent Development and Equal Opportunities of the University of Rostock.
Over the coming months, three distinguished scientists will visit Rostock as fellows of the programme: Prof. Matthew Reilly (Ohio State University, USA), Prof. Janne Jänis (University of Eastern Finland, Finland), and Dr. Waseem Ahmad Wani (University College Dublin, Ireland).
During their stays, the fellows will collaborate closely with research groups of the department and contribute their expertise in fields such as biomedical imaging, high-resolution mass spectrometry, and functional materials. The aim is to further strengthen international collaborations, develop new joint research approaches, and promote scientific exchange within the Interdisciplinary Faculty.
In addition to the research activities, several seminar series and workshops will be offered for doctoral researchers, postdoctoral scientists, and interested researchers at the University of Rostock. These events will provide insights into current developments in the respective research fields and encourage interdisciplinary dialogue.
A detailed overview of the planned seminars and workshops will be available on the Homepage of the Department Life, Light & Matter. The events will also be announced through the department’s newsletter and via university-wide circular emails.
By successfully attracting these fellowships, the Department Life, Light & Matter further strengthens its international network and its commitment to scientific exchange with leading researchers worldwide.
