Science@Sail 2025 – Hands-on Science at the Hanse Sail

From August 7 to 10, 2025, the University of Rostock will present its interactive science platform Science@Sail at the Hanse Sail, located directly at the city harbor quay between the Museum Harbor and “Zum Alten Fritz.” Under the motto “Feeding your hunger for knowledge,” the University invites visitors to experience science and research in an interactive, entertaining, and accessible way for all age groups.

Science@Sail 2025 brings hands-on science to the Hanse Sail with a diverse stage program combining engaging talks and entertaining formats. Children and families can explore scientific phenomena through interactive experiments in mobile labs, the MINT van, and the TechnoThek. Excursions aboard the research vessel Limanda offer direct insights into current scientific investigations on the water.

Many researchers from fields such as medicine, biomedicine, chemistry, and nutritional science will present their work in a vivid and accessible way to the public.

The Department of Life, Light, and Matter (LLM) is also represented with several contributions, showcasing its research in these key scientific areas.
