The Department of Life, Light & Matter (LL&M) at the University of Rostock is delighted to welcome Prof. Dr. Petra Rudolf as a new member of its Scientific Advisory Board. The internationally renowned physicist from the University of Groningen was officially appointed on 19 June 2026 for a four-year term by the Rector of the University of Rostock.
Prof. Rudolf is internationally recognized for her research on interfaces, functional materials, and nanoscale systems. With her extensive experience in interdisciplinary research and her broad international network, she will provide valuable strategic guidance for the further development of the Department. Her scientific expertise perfectly complements the Advisory Board and will contribute important new perspectives to LL&M's future research directions.
The appointment comes at a time when the Department is further strengthening its research profile, expanding international collaborations, and preparing future collaborative research initiatives and excellence funding proposals. The Scientific Advisory Board plays a key role in this process by providing independent scientific advice and strategic recommendations.
