Mare Balticum Fellowship: Prof. Janne Jänis Visits LL&M

Prof. Janne Jänis von der University of Eastern Finland

As part of the Mare Balticum Fellowship, the Department Life, Light & Matter (LL&M) is pleased to welcome Prof. Janne Jänis from the University of Eastern Finland for a scientific guest lecture in Rostock.

The Role of High-Performance Mass Spectrometry in the Sustainability Transition of Energy and Materials

24 September 2026 | 1:00 p.m.
Seminar Room 110, LL&M Research Building
Albert-Einstein-Straße 25, 18059 Rostock

Prof. Jänis is an internationally recognized expert in high-resolution mass spectrometry of complex organic mixtures. In his lecture, he will demonstrate how advanced mass spectrometric methods can contribute to understanding novel and sustainable energy and materials systems at the molecular level.

The lecture will focus on complex chemical mixtures, novel fuels and materials, transformation products, as well as non-target and suspect screening approaches.

Everyone interested is warmly invited to attend.
