Dr. Wilinski (geb. Stache) was honored with the prestigious Joachim Jungius Award for the Best Doctoral Dissertations at the University of Rostock during the Academic Celebration on July 4, 2025. The award, presented by the Society of Friends of the University of Rostock, recognizes outstanding academic achievements and is endowed with €2,000.
The awarded dissertation, entitled
“Investigations of the Corneal Nerve Plexus and Retina as Biomarkers of Chemotherapy-Induced Polyneuropathy in Breast Cancer”,
was conducted within the Sperlich/Stachs research group (UAK/LLM) in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Prof. A. Stachs) and in cooperation with the Institute for Automation and Applied Informatics at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
The work combines high-resolution ophthalmic imaging with clinically relevant oncological questions and makes an important contribution to the diagnosis of therapy-induced nerve damage.
