Motion & Physical Performance

The project area Movement & Physical Performance investigates the physiological aging and the aging processes in humans as well as respective therapy or medical and technical compensation strategies. This includes, among other things, regenerative medicine for the aging body, brain pacemaker therapy for central movement disorders, orthotics and prosthetics, research into cell aging and the use of age-appropriate assistance systems to maintain physical performance. Important new solutions are to be developed in gene therapy and in health prevention. Information science supports this through mathematical modelling, simulation, and data analysis.
